With the absence of any real hot hatch in the current Mk7 Fiesta line up Ford have enlisted the help of Mountune again as they did previously with the Fiesta ST to give the current top level model the ZS (Zetec-S) a bit more grunt and street cred to boot.

The Mountune upgrade for 1.6 litre engines of the new Fiesta Zetec-S and Titanium versions costs in the region of £1,299 with additional costs for fitting (a maximum of 4 hours labour charge so we are told) will add a 4-1 manifold, sports cat, high-flow stainless steel exhaust system, upgraded air filter with cold air feed and an engine remap using Ford’s ETIS software.  This will increase the power from the standard 120BHP and torque of 152Nm to 140BHP and and maximum torque of 170Nm at 4,250 rpm.

What the above perfomance figures mean in terms of 0-60 times is a reduction of 2 seconds down to 7.9 seconds from the standard 9.9 seconds the car is capable of when it leaves the factory.

Developed by Mountune Performance in association with Ford TeamRS the upgrades are fully approved by Ford and as such will not affect a car’s warranty and the perfomance parts fitted come complete with a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty.
